bassinet

Are they necessary? My baby is going to be sleeping in my room permanently in a crib right beside my bed...so is it worth it to get a bassinet for when they are a newborn? Or should I just skip that and put them straight into the crib?

if the crib is going to be in your room anyways, I say skip the bassinet. We never ended up using ours.

I got one and my son went in one time and one time only.

skip it. My son didn't get much use out of his.

skip it, if his crib will be in your room, I have a playpen with a bassinet on it and I never even used it. He still sleeps in bed with us!

If you get a Pack N Play, they come with a bassinet attachment. Those are handy to have. I can't tell you how many times we've used her PnP. But buying just the bassinet? No, I would skip it.

I have a pack and play that im going to keep in the living room for when im cooking/cleaning and tending to my son. In my bedroom i have her crib all set up for when shes sleeping at night & when me and her are napping while my son is at school.

I don't really need a pack n play...there is no living room in our apartment, every room is somebodies bedroom...

I think you have all convinced me to skip the bassinet.

That's pretty much what we did. I just liked having her near me. We had 2 floors so I didn't want her upstairs all by herself!
