Could this really be a sign of labor?

I had that for 4 weeks...it eventually led to labor.

Some women experience it before they go into labor... but not necessarily right before. And you are definitely capable of having loose BM without eminent labor.
So to answer your question... I suppose it could be a sign of labor, but I wouldn't take too much stock in it

I wouldn't get excited. I was like that for about a month before i went into labor and i was 6 days overdue.

Haha, thats one thing for sure, i'm not getting excited just yet.I don't want to set myself up for a let down. I've been having strong contractions and ALOT of pain in my vagina all throughout last night & today, so that just made things a little more interesting, but I don't think I'll be going into labor tonight or anything! Haha

a sign that your body is generally getting prepared, yes, but not a sign of imminent labor.
however, i will say i never really believed that. and then the day before my second was born i swore i was getting the flu and had diarrhea all day as well. it wasn't the flu, it was just a baby.
