Child support question.

My husband was recently laid off and our income drasctically reduced. So we contacted his attorney to suspend child support. We received court papers today that says our hearing will be December 30, 2009. What will happen in the meantime if the child support goes unpaid? Can they come after us? We can't afford one penny of it. And don't hate on him.... this is NOT something he wants!

if he gets too far behind ( couple hundred to a thousand) depending on the law where you live...but until then he should be ok..but he will HAVE to pay it up eventually

He will be fine. They will go back to the date he was laid off. If he is collecting unempl he will still have to pay something.

thats what i was going to say. if he gets unemployment he wont have to report it they will automatically take it out, without even notifying him
