A RUN TO THE E.R.....

so yesterday i woke up with a fever... thru out the day it'd come and go, til around 6pm, it got extremely bad to the point i was crying and could literally not feel my body cuz of the shivers and i was just burning up, i took my temperature i was at 102.7 so i called my doctor she said to make it to the emergency room asap because a fever that high was not good for the baby especially since i been having it ALL DAY.... so i did, by the time i got to the hospital my temperature was up to 104.1! OMGEEEE!!!! i was super worried for my baby, especially since i am only about 7 weeks and some days. so they drew some blood, ran some tests, gave me some tylenols and hooked me up to the IV because i was super dehydrated! so the doc comes in and says i have to get an ultrasound to make sure the baby is ok, by then im a little worried, but at the same time excited because i wasnt suppose to get my first ultrasound til 13 weeks   so besides the IV they made me drink like a whole liter of water to get my bladder full for the ultrasound and i had to peepee sooooo bad. and they made me wait like an hour! AHH. i got to see my little peanut! and heard its heartbeat. heart rate was at 171! very exciting moment and the baby was absolutely fine which was great to know, but i was still suffering this fever.... they put me on some antibiotics [tamiflu] that is okay to take when pregnant... and now i am feeling better! it was just super stressful but also relieving.

tamiflu is for swine flu.

My daughter was in the ER yesterday for that same thing they gave me a prescription for tamiflu but all pharmacies are out of it.

im guessing you have the swine flu?

lol! NO SWINE FLU!!! tamiflu can be used to swine but is definitely not only for that...... it is also for regular flu's or very bad colds... which is what i had. no flu, just a cold

nah, you must have something else. fever and chills are uncommon with a cold because its viral. you wouldve been given tamiflu as a precaution so you dont get swine flu

well the doctor told me it was just a severe cold but that they were gonna treat it AS IF it was a flu because that medicine will prevent anything else, and there wasnt really any other medicines they could prescribe that could make me feel better cuz of they baby.........

anycase, i feel excellent today! so i dont think it was any type of flu..... it'd be following me still today if it started yesterday, and i feel grand

im glad you're feeling much better. ive been knocked out with the flu once, oh man it sucked!!
