38 week appointment

Had my 38 week appointment today. Im 2 cm dilated now. I failed my groub b strep test so im gonna have to have antibiodics when i go into labor. Since i have GD and am taking insulin for it they dont want me going over due, so if she doesnt come by my due date they will be inducing me that night,the 19th, so ill be having her on the 20th more then likely (which is the new moon release lol). anyways i just hope she makes her way out before then so i can skip the whole "fun" induction thing lol.

i cant wait to get to that point, im 36 weeks and just found out that i have borderline GD i just got the kit and everything today to start testing myself, next week i find out if i go on insulin. do you have any tips on how to get the levels down?

dont eat any junk food, nothing super high in carbs. like a typical meal should have 45-60 g carbs in it. Drink water/milk and avoid everything else like juice and soda, make sure you snack between meals and snacks should have no more then 15 g carbs. and never skip meals. This is what ive been told to do and my numbers hve remained great. im just on insulin because my fasting (first morning # you take before you eat) ones were getting high. oh and avoid cereal for breakfast. its crazy lol. the upside to being on insulin is i have gotten an ultrasound every week which is kinda nice.

yeah that is pretty cool, i just got to have 2 and even then they didnt want to give me a 2nd one because at that point we didn't know about the GD. Im really upset about it, i haven't really gotten over the fact that i have it yet, because my doctor made it seem like it was just border line and that going to this clinic today was just to get a good diet going not that i would have to start testing myself at home, to me this is serious and he made it seem like it was no big deal ( maybe im over reacting) im going to try to stay away from the crabs, its just going to be an adjustment its so late in the game and im supposed to change everything around and make good of it before i give birth. did you have GD with your other LO?

i didnt have GD with my last one. i kinda feel like i got it this time because i have gained quite a bit of weight since my last. im gonna try and get it all off after this. the diet they put me on is actually a good diet. i weigh 5 lbs less right now then i did when i had my first ob appointment because of cutting out all the bad stuff i was eating. and i didnt even get it until later on in this pregnancy, i passed my first glucose. it was the second one later that i failed and then failed my 3 hour.
yea its so late for you it will be over before you even know it. so i dont know why they would make much of a fuss out of it, they should probably just have you eatting good and testing and not worry about the insulin or other meds.

i hope i have a HUGE fear of needles lol so its hard but what ever i need to do for this little baby inside me is what im going to do. thanks for the advice and the tips it helps.. if you can get threw it and you seem to be then im sure ill be able to  

I think a new moon baby would be awesome! I'm hoping to have my baby on the 20th.

lol yes it would be fun to tell them they were born on a memorable day for all twilight fans!
