anyone has the IUD??

I am planing to get inserted because I dont want any kids until My DS is 5 yrs old or when I am done with accomplishing my goals. Before I use to use the DEPO shots and it was horrible! I gained 30 lbs, sever acne, and mood swings so I am terrified when it comes to taking any kinda of BC. Another reason I am getting the IUD is because I had a solid mass tumor removed from my right breast and I cant take anything with too much hormones. So basically my question is how did you like it? was it worth it? any weird side effects? thanks  

I recommend the paragard over the mirena. I love my IUD

are you getting the copper one then? I have the plastci one i love it. no periods, no no pills and it treats my endometriosis

I got Paraguard. It has no hormones. Its been great for me and no problems or complications with it all for me.

I have the Mirena, had the depo shot before, LOVE the mirena  

I have Mirena and have had it since april and in January I have to get it taken out..to many complications..why they are making me wait that long...I have no idea

i had a copper IDU with no hormones.. im alergic to the pill so they wont give me anything with hormones.
i had it for almost 3 years and it was fantastic. i had it removed when we decided to TTC and was pregnant within 3 months.

I have the paraguard and i like it. With me my periods were messed up. At first when i got it i had my period every month.... but now it comes every other month. Doctor said it was fine since i was still getting it. But other then that i do love it.  

yeah I am geting the paraguard so far from what I have read online its pretty good. I use condoms but we have had to many accidents with the Trojan ultra thins it stays inside of me every time I am on top, so I end up taking the plan B pill. which I am tired of wasting $50 and taking.

i had the mirena. i only got my period like every 3 months, which was nice at first, but then i started always getting paranoid about pregnancy.

i also gained weight and was breaking out alot. i got it taken out a few months ago and got on the pill (i know you said you cant get on the pill), but my face cleared up alot after getting the IUD taken out.

paraguard is different though, so maybe it wont happen to you. side effects are different for everyonee

I know with most IUDs they say it can take up to 9 months to regulate so that is probably why. I know with my paragard I hated it the first 5 months now I pretty much LOVE it. But I think its one of those things that you will either love it or hate it. My doctor told me I had to wait 6 months to get it removed unless it was serious problems in order to give it time. Preferred nine months to wait but said 6 was the minimum and my last period before I went it was so much better then all the others. Although my friend and I who both have the paragard our cycles became longer... Don't know why but we both panicked twice thinking we were pregnant. I also do know one person who got pregnant on it but turns out it was inserted upside down.

WTF?!?!?!?! Its shaped like a "T".... youreally cant screw that up..... i never ever want to go to whatever OB/GYN that did!!!
