I have a fit thrower!!!

posted 5th Nov
I am so glad my son is better after 16 days of the H1N1, but jeepers creepers this kid is a handful and a half.Hubby and I are relentlessly consistent and this kid still pushes the limits.Literally 25 times within 35 minutes last night he went to get to the t.v. which he knows is off limits. With a firm 'no" and placing him elsewhere he kicks and screams for a few minutes, gets up and is at it again. He eats healthy (so it isn't his diet) and is shown plenty of love and attention, but man is this kid persistent. My other two were easy, well mannered little creatures and this one (my only boy) is already becoming a problem child.Anyone else-and do they outgrow this ridiculous behavior????He is only 12 months-I cannot imagine this at 2 years.

Let me tell you. My daughter just turned 1 two days ago. I swear, she has been a terror since then! She is constantly testing boundaries.

My daughter is only 8.5 months old and she will throw herself on the floor and screem for a couple seconds and then try again. She hates being told no. :/ I'm going to have problems with her I think.

I am certainly humbled.I used to think it was because parents weren't persistent, but I am relentless when it comes to persistence-boy have I learned not to be so quick to judge.

Unfortunately it's just the age. He is trying to learn how to be independent and seeing what he can get away with. My husband and I are firm believers in the "hand smack" (lightly slapping their hands when you don't want them to touch something) but if you don't feel comfortable with that, then just keep doing what you are doing. Sooner or later, he will get the hint. Good luck!

Yes, it really just depends on the temperment of the child. No matter how persistant or firm I am with her. She will still do things to test me.

Thanks.I am not for physical punishment in any way shape or form, however if after another month of this I may resort to things I haven't tried.
