Holy moly. I go every 6mths to get cleaned, but it had been a year this past time, I was so sick being pregnant (which did a number on its own, puking up acid for nearly 3 years straight) that I didnt go and skipped my last apt..never again. Booo

wow thats alot.

i had a filling fall out and at the time no ins to get it fixed so i let it go and once i got to the dentist i needed a root canal.. but i was not going to pay 700 for a root canal and crown lol it was in teh back of my mouth so i had them pull it.

it was only $45 to pull, but 700 for the canal/crown.

now i need yet another canal.. which i dont wana pull another tooth so ill suck it up and pay for it.. then like 5 cavities filled... =/

pregnancy KILLED my teeth!

i had no cavities at the start of pregnancy.
then by the end i had an old filling fall out.. and like 7 cavities ontop of that!
im still dealing with it now.. i have to get em filled and fixed a little at a time b/c of $ =/
i have dental insurance but its HMO and it SUCKS. should of went with the PPO.. i never realized how expensive teeth were lol

They would not pull mine esp. because they were back teeth. I would've needed a bridge/spacer to keep my teeth from moving towards each other and messing up the entire structure of my mouth

they wont pull this back tooth that i need a canal on.. its like the second to last molar.

and the tooth i just had pulled they didn't want to pull it.. its the first or second molar.. she said i may need something there later on b/c it may make my teeth move... but at the time it'd been infected two times. i was in PAIN and no money for the canal so i just said PULL IT get it out of my mouth now!! lol

I can see that..ouch. I hate mouth pain. They didnt do anything numbing wise for my root canals except topical, because I am bfing and they said they werent sure of the risks with noviacane, so I sat there nearly 3 hours and died. It was awful. Worse than my csection and today my face is throbbing off and swollen/sore. They didnt do the standard 2 visit canal, they did it ALL at once...sheesh....

i would REFUSE !
that sounds awful.

i always have to get like 6 novicane shots.
the first three are never enough to numb me.
topical numbing is just a joke, too.
wow that makes my mouth hurt...

Dead serious. I had to get it done too   I was in serious pain to where I couldnt eat. They wouldnt pull it because its in the back sooo root canal it was. I almost died. It was awful   The pink numbing gel was a freaking joke. It numbed my tounge and jaw

ouuuuch.. yeah the only way to numb the nerves up there is novicane.
i wonder if it is safe or not for bfing..

Oooh you guys are making me nervous! I haven't been in 5 years and have had 2 pregnancies almost back to back. I was stupid and was on my dad's dental plan til I was 23 but didn't use it. I kick myself in the ass over it all the time.

My husband's work has open enrollment right now but the dental plan seems kind of lame so I'm going to start calling around and get prices. It'll probably be better to just pay out of pocket.
