do period cramps feel like contractions?

Pre-pregnancy I never ever had period cramps so I don't know what they feel like..  Now the last three days I've had the worst stomach pains that feel like contractions, like in early labor contractions so not bad bugt they still hurt like a mother fucker. And they last like the same amount of time as a ccontraction... But I've only bled one day and even then it wasn't much at all. So I have no idea if that was supposed to be my period and the ;pains are period cramps or if it could be something else?
I have mirena and am breastfeeding so I know they both mess with your period.

Yup, they're similar. Except labor pains are about a million times worse. My cramps post pregnancy got so much worse. Before I had my son, I got cramps but nothing to horrific. After having him, they're helllll!

See I never had any before I had him so I didnt know what they felt like lol
Labor contractions are worse these are like the contractions I got about 1 hour into getting pitocin they feel like lol

I'm sorry mama. It's crazy how they get worse after having a baby (or in your case, they rear their ugly head for the first time). Midol is what I take and it does seem to help. IDK if you can take it while breastfeeding though.

Last night was HORRIBLE! They felt WORSE the contractions  . I thought I was dying.

Thats what I was wondering

Its weird, by body did the exact opposite after my daughter. i used to have severe period cramps and needed medication, after my daughter I havent had any.. hope itt stays that way after this baby lol
