Yeah, unfortunately for me, I just got used to it on my own. Nobody ever, not once, told me it was something normal. My mother, who has four children, looked at me like I was completely nuts when I mentioned it to her.

The symptoms have been getting worse! Or maybe I'm just over thinking it. I'm trying to think of a way to go to the doctor without my parents knowing haha
I could understand if I started getting pregnancy symptoms when I first got the Mirena but I've had it in since..... February or March? and I still have had frequent but light periods around the same time but I didn't start feeling symptoms until I started having sex again in September,7 months later and in October my period stopped completely. My boobs are sore, bigger, and I even look like I'm getting a belly! I weigh 105 lbs and i'm farely petite so when everything else is tiny and my belly is starting to get a bit bigger I don't know what else it could be. I've also been itching down there and been realllly horny like I was the first time and i've had increased discharge and I never have discharge unless I'm preggo. With 3 negative pregnancy tests does anyone else think it's worth the 30 dollar copay to go to the doctor and get a blood test?

You could be psyching yourself out with all the symptoms. But I would go to the doctor to be sure. 30 isn't too much....especially if you'll end up spending that much on preg tests lol

I've had My Mirena for about 2 1/2 years.. and I'm STILL having the side effects. I went to the ER with severe Cramping and a lot of blood( i had never bled "Bright red" while on Mirena until this point) I was really freaked out.. They did an ultrasound and a preg test.. And they were both NEG. No blood work done though.. ANYWAYS ..I was due to start my period on the 1st.. and its not here. So just so you know.. The side effects dont go away over time. ALSO.. there are a lot of people who DO get pregnant on Mirena.. Where it used to be 1 in 500,000 now its more like 1 in 1,000.. Look it up online.. a lot of Doctors are no longer offering this because of the pregnancy and side effects. :/

I can guarantee you you are most likely not pregnant. One of two things could be happening, the hormones didn't settle in your system until recently, only just now causing symptoms at a coincidental time, or because you are having sex without a condom, you are psyching yourself into pregnancy symptoms simply because you know, obviously, that's how babies are made. If the tests are negative, they will more than likely stay negative. Pregnancy symptoms ARE a side effect of Mirena. I didn't get them right away, either. They showed up months upon months after insertion.

I looked it up and that is not accurate information at all. There is a only a 1% failure rate when inserted correctly...

"The Minena Intrauterine System is thought to be very effective, with less than a 1% failure rate for perfect users. However, this number does not include women whose IUD fell out of place, which is a possible problem in the first few months after insertion."

After doing a lot of reading, every website says something different as far as per year, so it's much better to go by the percentage. The fact is, you are not likely to get pregnant with it in and if you have had several negative tests, the likelihood you're pregnant is minimal.

Hmm okay thank you so much for the information. I'm thinking just to ease my mind I'll call the OB in the morning and ask what she thinks or if I should make sure my Mirena is still in the right spot or didn't fall out.

You should know where your Mirena is by feeling for your strings. I'm pretty sure you aren't pregnant, but you're deadset on being so apparently.
