Breast Feeding Momma's

posted 4th Nov
So I was thinking about enrolling in a breast feeding class at my hospital. I would really like to breast feed my baby for as long as my body allows me too. But my question is, is the class worth it? I really do not have any friends or family who breast fed, so I dont' have any one to give me advice. The class is only $25 so not a huge deal, but i'm just curious if it will be worth it and help me out.

It won't hurt. There's a lot about BFing I found out just from watching pregnancy shows on TV, but there's sooo much more you could learn that will probably help you out.

I read books--lots of them! And I had a sister-in-law who was breast feeding at the time (she ended a couple months after I started) and some other friends who had breast fed several years back. I asked LOTS of questions. And in the beginning few months, I made TONS of calls and a few visits to the lactation consultants. I probably wouldn't have made it without all their help.

I think if I could go back, I'd take a breast feeding class. I was so scared that I was doing it wrong. I needed tons of reassurance...so I think it would have made me more confident in the long run. And it might have saved me some crying fits in the beginning.

I took a breastfeeding class and I think it made all the difference. I kind of knew what to expect (because it's not easy at first!) and I could ask questions. It's a GREAT idea to take it!

Out of all the classes i took at my hospital before I had my LO, the breastfeeding one was the one that helped me the most.
