Mirena

so I'm trying to figure out what birth control to use. My doctor is pushing for either Mirena or the Implanon since they are progestin only. I cant use the BC pills I was on before (othro tricycline lo dose) because of heart issues and my blood pressure being high.
So my question is, have or do any of you ladies use Mirena or Implanon? What are your opinions. Thanks in advance for the help!

I have mirena. Its awesome. You forget that its in.

i have the mirena. LOVE it.

Hated it! My body tried to reject it for the year I had it. Constant cramping.... AND my husband could feel it... said it felt like thumb tacks. Ouch!!

I had major problems with my Mirena as well.

I would recommend googling it and reading some of the poor outcomes that ladies have had with it. After going through what I did with it, I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE.

That said, everyone's experience is different. I have a friend that has a Mirena and she absolutely loves it.

if you recommend researching poor outcomes...you should also recommend researching good, as well. nothing is going to look good if you focus on the bad. you need to look at both.

Wow. That was a totally useless response to what she said. Basically she was telling her to research some of the side effects some women had with the Mirena, which is something everyone should do.
