So here he is ladies, my baby boy has FINALLY arrived!!! I am sooo sorry I took soo long with the pics but I have been super busy with tons of visitors and a new baby boy
.
Labor story:
I was scheduled for an induction for 11/1/09 @ 9pm.42 weeks 1 day. My mom, sil (Danielle) and Reggie came with me to the hospital and by 9:50 pm I was induced with a small pill inserted into my vagina (Cyotec). Contractions started but nothing major. By 11:30pm I was having some contractions and was dialated about 1 and a half cm.11/2/09- I was given 2 more Cyotec at 1:25am(2cm) and 4:51am. I was in active labor but my baby was not engaged.I was in sooo much back pain, I could not move bc they needed to keep the baby on the monitor, so I was not a happy camper.I literally had the nurses in my room every 5 to 10 minutes bc either the baby would move out of range or I would move from the severe back pain.I must have been offered an epi like 20 times, but I refused but did take some medicine for my back pain(it did not work very well
)By 8:30am I was given pitocin in order to make contractions more severe and to see if he would engage but NOTHING. The doctors wanted to break my water but since the baby was so high up, they could not do anything more for me but offer an epi...lol. At 10:30 my water broke and I got soo excited to finally have some progress. I was having severe cotractions by 12noon and for the next several hours with no progress. By 2:50pm I was at my end with severe back pain, the contractions were severe but bareable. The doctor came in and informed me that STILL after over 17 hours of painfull labor, my son was not engaged and more than likely will not be able to. I was DEVOSTATED
. I looked at my family and they looked as tired as I felt. I did not want to go through another 10+ hours of labor to be told that my baby was in danger or that he could still not fit. It was decided that a c section would be the best way to go. I cried the whole way to the O.R. I had an anxiety attack while they gave me the spinal epi, I was shaking and started throwing up at the thought of what was about to happen. Reggie came in and the room was spinnig I was scared shitless and still throwing up. I felt like I could not breathe and I could not feel anything but cold. Reggie started trying to calm me down telling me that I was about to meet Jair. Then it all hit me, this is it. I am going to meet my son, suddenly nothing else mattered. It must have taken about 10 minutes and I heard a little cry, then a big cry, then a big ole baby rushed to the incubator. It was surreal, I could not belive it I was hearing and looking at my son just a few feet away from me. Reggie was at the incubator taking pics, he walked over to me with a big smile and tells me "he looks just like you".
