Honestly you don't need to give him anything during the day. Coughing is the body's way of getting rid of the junk. I'd just give him infant medicine that is for coughs at night so he sleeps better & won't be up all night coughing. If it continues to get worse, you may want to take him into the Dr just incase he needs antibiotics

humidifier, works wonders other than that you can't give him anything, he is too young.

Sometimes Lukas would fake cough at around 3... 4 months. Maybe that could be it?

my lo does fake cough and it's funny. but you can give him infant tylenol, just half a dropper. :-D it should help.
