MIL strikes again!

Not only did she make me cry this morning by being totally rude to me but when I went to pick up my son after work, she gave me an envelope with a little bit of Jason's hair. Apparently she felt like giving him his first hair cut. First of all he doesnt even have alot of hair and the bit she cut was his last little bit of baby hair that was on the top of his head and long and stuck out like alfalfa. Now all thats left is the little new hairs growing in.

who does she think she is that she can cut my sons hair, his first hair cut, my first childs hair cut.. wtf she did it again, now im officially in tears for the 2nd time today from her.

wow sounds like its time to find someone else to watch your son. she sounds like she thinks shes the mom or something.

Is there any way you can talk to her to let her know you don't want her doing "the firsts" without you and/or your husband there? I would be heartbroken too =[

OK.......time to call in sick tomorrow, and look for other childcare. Big NO NO cutting your childs' hair......Wow, I'm so sorry you have to deal with her!

BTW, most mom's wait util after a 1yr for a hair cut, so that's just rude.
That woman would not be watchign my child.

I would be livid.
My mother in law did this once when my daughter was 5. She took her for her first haircut (not a cut given by me, which is how her hair was always done) and didnt bother to ask me or anything. I flipped. My husband was just as upset also.

Sounds like she either thinks she is mom or doesn't respect what you say. I would either start looking for someone else to watch the baby or keep him away from her for a little while. It sounds mean, but she sounds like she doesn't care at all about what you say regarding your son.

She only watches him 6 hrs a week and somehow she manages to piss me off in those short 6 hrs. I can tell this is going to turn into a big argument with my husband and I.

Aileen, I know I just texted you. But I wanted to tell you I love you! lol...Really I do. My heart aches for you right now and I wish I could be closer to where you live so I could come over and we could cry together and talk smack about our MIL's.

What she did was very rude. And you are a very strong woman. Because with what she did to you today, I would have already been in her face telling her.....

"While I am thankful for your concern over the well being of Jason, I am his mother and I want whats best for him, Jay and I will be making decisions on his care and what happens, if you can not respect them, you dont need to watch him. Also, I am very upset that you decided to cut his hair today. That is my first child and you took the special moment away from Jay and I for taking him for his first hair cut. So thank you. If you would like to continue to watch your grandson, please respect our wishes"


That is JUST WHAT YOU NEED TO TELL HER. If she doesnt get the hint, its time to find somebody else to watch him. If I were there I'd take him for you.

My daughter has a little rat tail and I love it but my sister thinks it is so ugly. She jokes about cutting it off and tells me I should cut it but she knows better than to cut somebody else's childs hair. I would raise hell!!!

Jeff and I get along great about his mother, his father on the other hand. Not so much.
So I kind of know how you feel. =[

Jay needs to understand and if he doesnt lay the law with him too!

Marc used to always take his mommies side until I told him "Asswipe you are married to ME, not your mother". Since then, he's much much better about confronting his mommy when she does stuff we dont like.
