Thats gonna be so hard.. My hubby is deploying in March..They just started their pre-mob training. Our son will be 6 months old then. He's afraid our son wont now him when he gets back. I told him he will know him..

that's the thing I'm most worried about,, is having a son who doesn't know me when I get back... my SO and mom say that it won't happen though. They promised me they'd make a point of letting him know who I am every day that I'm gone,,, but yeah,, it's going to be hard but better for our family, especially him, in the long run

My Son met his dad at 8 1/2 months old. Loves him to death (when he's being an attentive father)
But he did have attachment issues with me at first which was hard on his dad, but persistence and love. It'll all be okay!

no I didn't thank god, I had to bitch about it and bring a note from my midwife but they ended up letting me stay behind and push paper. Now I'm just sitting at the armory waiting for everyone to come back from the field. these uniforms look rediculous on pregnant women lol.......

You are pregnant. The protocol states that you cannot do what he is telling you to do. So if it is against protocol you CAN refuse to do it. Tell him no, that you are not doing it. It's against protocol. If you have to get a note from your OB. Just b/c its Army doesn't mean that they can force you to do it. If it wasn't against protocol and your dr said that it was ok for you to do it, then you wouldn't really be able to say no. But again you just said it's against protocol, they can't make you do it.

really?? The AF does that to pregnant Airman? Makes them violate their profile in hopes to kick them out for being pregnant?? I dunno, I just dont see that, but then again, I wasnt AF, I was Army, and the OP is NG...so...

I just know, legally, a person can not be made to do things against their pregnancy profile, that's why there is one.

Now unpregnancy related...sure....you cant do your job, you are constantly on medical profiles...you can be released by medical chapters or if its found to be them milking the system, they could get chaptered out for other things. But pregnancy? No...

I'm active duty military and pregnant as well. Actually, your sgt is COMPLETELY wrong. If you are beyond 20 weeks, you can't participate in field exercises, firing range, or ANY strenuous activity. If they make you do it, not only will they be held responsible for anything that may happen, but so will you. Your "profile" is a direct order from a military doctor/flight surgeon and if you don't follow it you are violating a lawful order from an officer and could be subject to disciplinary action. If I were you, I'd contact a military doctor or break out the army's version of the personnel manual, and find out exactly what you are and are not allowed to do. These rules are made by the ARMY, not by your unit, and not even by the National Guard. If your sgt still refuses to cooperate, take it up your chain of command. Do not be confrontational, just voice your concerns respectfully, and let them know that you are willing to go above their heads if you don't get the answer you want. Be prepared to back up your claims with proof from the appropriate manuals. Like it or not, pregnant women in the military really are "second class citizens". Once you are on light duty and unable to do your job fully, people ARE going to resent you. It isn't right, but it's the truth. Good luck to you.
