TTC after Mirena IUD?

posted 4th Nov
Hi everyone! I had my Mirena IUD removed in March after having it for four years & since I've had it removed I've had irregular periods. For the last three months my cycle has been about every 48 days or so.
My husband & I just decided to start trying for baby #3 & I'm not sure if I'll have a problem getting pregnant since my cycle is so long or if I should be concerned that I'm not ovulating. Also just wondering how long it took for any of you ladies to get pregnant after having an IUD.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

I'm getting ready to get Mirena next week...I'm curious also..i know everyone is different. My doctor said some people get pregnant right away..she said it just depends on how fertile you are.

I actually got pregnant with mirena and had it removed when I miscarried in April. And then we started to TTC in May and had another m/c. I gave my body a 6 month break and I havent been on any BC excpet condoms. We just started last month. My cycles were normal afterwards, but the last few cycles had been so off.. my cycles are only lasting 23-26 days, and last month I ovulated later, and this month I ovulated 5 days earlier. Who knows.. I will NEVER do that again! Goodluck and tons of babydust to you!

Have you used any OPKs? They helped me get pregnant super fast after I got mine removed.

I had a Mirena twice first time it took me 7 months to concieve but i know people who even after 2 years are struggling, this time i had it removed im still waiting for a BFP after 6 months of trying...

you need to speak to your doctor to rule out any other underlying condition for your peace of mind.

I wont be going for the Mirena again i really suffered with it there are lots of otherposts out regarding this

I got my mirena two days ago.. has anyone had a problem with feeling the strings..like the ends of them. I feel like im getting poked by the end of the strings. And what does it feel like when they take it out?

Let your Dr. know and they'll cut your strings shorter for you. And I didn't really even feel mine getting taken out.

you know i called and talked to the nurse and she said she'd never heard anyone say that before.. I'm wondering if she just didn't understand what I was telling her or what. I told her it felt likeI was getting poked by something and i thought it was the strings. It's kind of annoying. It's good to know getting it out is better than getting it in..I swear at one point it felt like she cut me..

you can get them cut or later on they get curled inwards so you will stop feeling them as its only been two days it does take a bit of time settling down.

getting mine out hurt but not as much as putting in they pull it out while they make you cough

oh putting it in sucked. I'll probably get it again though after the next baby. It will be my last but I don't want to get my tubes tied. Just in case we change our mind. I think it's accually falling out.. the strings are pretty close to hanging out..I'm going in today for them to check it.

I don't know yet. i just got mine and so far i like it. My doctor told me it just depends on how fertile you are as too how long it will take to get pregnant again. The littlething i read at my dr's office says within a year for most people.
