Yeah, just make sure your hands are clean, but if you don't know what you are looking for you'll probably be confused.

First, it's cervix. Second, if you are TTC and charting cervical position it is ok to check your cervix, they recommend not doing it while you are pregnant because of the risk of introducing bacteria. If you start checking your cervix to help aid in TTC (I do) your cervix will be at it's highest point during ovulation and also very soft. And while you are pregnant your cervix should be high and firm

It's something that is different for everyone. I can always reach mine, even while ovulating. It take a little while, a few cycles of checking to really understand what you are feeling. But it's best to start charting cervical position after your AF bleeding stops. Then it is usually in it's lowest position and usually very easy to find, and it will feel very firm. As your cycle continues it gradually moves up. (because the move is so gradual, I only check my position every other day) by mid cycle (near ovulation) it is usually much higher and getting very soft. When you get to ovulation, it will feel very soft, very high (sometimes hard to reach) and may feel slightly open especially if you have had a baby already.
