My advice would be to avoid induction all together. I would choose to wait it out for him to come naturally. Induction dramatically increases your chance of a C-section and I have had labor both ways (naturally and byC-section) and trust me, naturally is 100% better! I was also induced with both my kids and it sucks! Contractions are longer and much more intense. With this baby I plan to go into labor naturally, even if it is two weeks past my due date because I know it is the best way to go for me and my baby.

I know women get anxious and want to see their baby so they agree to induction (I've been there) but once you become more informed about labor and delivery you will want to wait til your body is ready.

No can do... I am being induced due to a medical issue. If I go into labor on my own on the medication I'm on, I risk bleeding to death. If I stop taking the medicine for more than a day or so, I risk clotting myself to death, or clotting the umbilical cord and causing my son to die. I'd rather be alive when my son gets here, and I'd rather he arrives alive..

(sorry if I seem pissed, I'm just freaking sick of people telling me that I'm doing this wrong when I really don't have much of a say in the matter. Obviously being induced is less than ideal, but I'm sick of people acting like I'm going to do more harm to myself and the baby because of it... I'm high risk for a reason, and am being induced for a reason. I barely even talk about my L&D plans on this stupid site for this exact reason...)

That's true... I had some old lady as my gyno in college and she was pretty nice. She's not in this area though, and I doubt she's also an OB

I NEVER said that what you plan to do is wrong, so don't lump me in with those other people out there that try to tell others what to do. I was simply giving you my opinion based on experience. I am however having trouble understand why a induction would be better than going into labor naturally becauseof your condition....what does inducing provide that is safer for your condition?

The chance to stop taking my medicine 12 hours before labor is induced. Any longer than a day without the medicine is a health risk (clotting) for both me and the baby. Going into labor on the medication is a health risk for me (bleeding).
