flu shot with mercury

posted 4th Nov
I got my H1N1 shot today and it was preservative free, now i am scheduled to get the regular flu shot tomorrow; however it has mercury in it. I don't know if I should just go ahead and get it or just chance it since I got the H1N1?? What to do??

Speak to your OB.
Normally, it's not recommended for pregnant women to have vax w/ Thimerasol.

They shouldn't give it to you with preservatives if you a pregnant.. and if they try too ask for the one that doesn't have it in it..

Well fish has mercury in it. And people can still eat it, but only certian amounts.
And if your doctor ok'd it just like many reccommend it you will be fine.

havent heard of the flu shot having mercury, but you would be surprised what is indeed in many of the vaccines given to kids: cow blood, monkey kidneys...... the list goes on lol

but since the h1n1 and the regular flu are two different strains, the h1n1 vaccine will not protect you from getting the regular flu.

I spoke with a couple teachers at my school and they all said not to get it with mercury: case in point one teacher has three kids, one has autism and two dont. Guess which child she got the flu shot with

It has always been a principle of medicine that one should not vaccinate pregnant women, except in extreme cases, because the risk to the baby is too high. There has been a lot of controversy about this recently but it's still medical principle. Here's a really good link with well researched and lots of trusted sources that talks about vaccination. It has a lot of emphasis on H1N1 because it's the hot topic right now but it does also give information about taking the regular flu shot as well.

I read and always heard that pregnant women shouldn't be vaccinated with vaccines that contain live viruses in them. But as long as they don't contain the live virus then it is fine. And the flu shot doesn't have the live virus

Okay, I'm going to quote from the article I posted above. I am not an expert but I do trust the sources quoted in the article. Please feel free to check the sources cited.

"It is known that stimulating a woman’s immune system during midterm and later term pregnancy significantly increases the risk that her baby will develop autism during childhood and schizophrenia sometime during the teenage years and afterward.27 Compelling scientific evidence also shows an increased risk of seizures in the baby and later as an adult.28 In fact, a number of neurodevelopmental and behavioral problems can occur in babies born to women immunologically stimulated during pregnancy."

By immunological stimulation he's speaking specifically about vaccinations of all kinds. Not just mercury based ones.

I guess my true question is that if you were preggo right now with all the H1N1 and flu scares would you go out and get the shots or would you run the risk of getting either flu and having more complicationsor possibly dieing?
