So I have a friend here from my SO's hometown, they've been friends for years, and shes a cool chick, so we drove the long ass drive the other night to go get her, she has an 18mo old son....and she didnt bring ANYTHING for him to eat. NOTHING.
She's supposed to be here a week...what the F am i supposed to do, I'm not rich, we just went grocery shopping but we have to make it last the month, and now we're feeding the both of them.
ugh...im just irritated...she wont even fucking feed him, i have to get it for him, he's at my feet fussing and crying because he's hungry, i cant just not feed the poor boy...idk..
but i dont have the money for this

what are the circumstances? Is she there for a visit? I would't think to bring food if I visited a friend, and if a friend came to visit me I'd be offended if they thought they had to bring their own food.

Unless she needed a splace to crash for awhile and you said you'd help her out- that'd be diff.

Tell her ass something.
1 year olds dont eat that much. Feel the child.
And when your feeding him, ask her where all
of his things are. Diapers, food, wipes, clothes.
If she didnt bring nothing tell her she needs to
go to the store and get him things because you
dont have the money for her and her child.

what?! you should say something! I would! I mean, you can probably say it without making drama right? I would hope so. You better believe I would find a way. I mean, I understand being a good hostess and all, but to bring a child that young. . . . maybe you could offer a ride to the grocery store? Say something like "oh, he seems hungry, do you want a ride to the store to get him some food? I would offer some grub, but we don't really have anything for him. "

I went 150miles to pick her and her son up because her and her SO broke up, and she needed an out.
I've asked her to take her to the store, and she says no, she doesnt have money
I dont mind feeding him snacks and what not, but its all his food for the day, and this boy eats!
She just sits on the couch on her phone while i feed him

honestly- not to sound mean, but you should have laid ground rules when you offered her a place if you can't afford to help her. I wouldn't dream of offering someone my home if I couldn't afford to feed them. Especially when a child is in the mix.

If you're this upset about feeding her toddler...you're obviously not that good of friends..and she prabably shouldn't be staying with you.

she wanted to come hang out for a bit. If i went ANYWHERE out of state with my kid, i would ATLEAST bring money to feed my own child, how could you EVEN expect someone to feed you child.
I dont mind helping out, but its 100%
Shes my SO's childhood friend.
Idk, i guess im old fashioned and like to make sure I feed my kid at other peoples houses

To me, giving the kid some food isnt that big of a deal. Im on a low budget and I still find food for my husbands three year old nephew when he stays here. I make sure he has diapers here when his mom brings him. But the food part, Im pretty sure you can spare.

its not that i cant spare, its just that if it were me, i would make sure to have my kid taken care of, what if i didnt have anything? Then what would she have done?
Its just the fact that she doesnt care. He'll sit here screaming and crying hes hungry, and she wont feed him, i ask her to make him something, and she says, no, but you can.
I have NO problem helping out, its just her expecting it all..
And idk, i just feel like she should have been ready, i wouldnt dare go anywhere without being prepared
