I'm sure this will get no responses

BUT-
Does anyone have any experience with wainscot paneling? Have you installed it yourself or had it installed in your home? I'm at a fork in the road and need some input.

Where are you putting it? On a wall? half way up a wall? If so , it would be easy to do it yourself.

Well we researched it a ton and finally pre-ordered it to install it ourselves. The problem is that we ordered it wrong, and basically got baseboard extensions for wainscoting. We still want to install wainscoting but it's so damn expensive and we've just lost a ton of money by ordering the wrong thing.
I'm basically just wondering if anyone has done beadboard wainscoting and if that was fairly cheap compared to other wainscot that requires vertical paneling with it?
I've looked it up online, and it seems like it's easier...I'm just super pissed that I wasted all that money, on accident. Part of the problem is that we sort of "have to" (not REALLY) because we only painted part way down the wall (obviously, because we thought the bottom portion would be covered). It would look super shitty to try and prime and paint over all the nice paint job we did already.

Most places have a small re-stocking fee that hey charge for situations like this. Look into that before you decide anything. Hopefully you can do an exchange and get what you really want.

I think we only have a couple more days to get a refund on it and ship it back, which is why I'm in dire need of some ideas.
I'd really just like an alternative to the expensive, typical wainscot paneling (besides wallpaper paneling), because I don't have the money to spend on what it typically costs.
