When Tums just don't cut it

What else can I take for my indigestion? It's getting pretty bad!

I was told that generic acid reducers help. OR you can ask your dr. to prescribe something.

Tums don't really help me either, but i didn't want to ask for a prescription the last month of pregnancy

I'm 99% sure your dr can give you a script for Zantac or Prilosec, or you could go buy it OTC. Call the office to double check but I'm almost positive you can take those! Hope it gets better!

I had to take Zantac everyday when pregnant. Tums sucked ass for me. They only worked for like 5 mins.

What about that pepsid ac?

Zantac, or if that doesn't help ask your doc about Protonix. Its expensive, but works wonders... the only thing that worked for me when I was pregnant.

malox! that works for me-and man the HB gets sooo bad, & the nausea . but it makes it all go away 

Tums won't even touch my heartburn lately. I try to drink a tall glass of milk as soon as I feel it coming on. That usually helps it subside before it gets too bad. Other than that, I would talk to your doc about something stronger than Tums.

My doctor prescribed me Prevacid. It worked like a charm!

Talk to your doctor about Zantac, or Prilosec.
Only way I survived. You can get a script usually insurance will cover. Mine didnt cover Prevacid.

My doc had me take Gaviscon. It's the only thing that worked. Towards the end my heartburn was unbearable. The liquid was awesome. It's a regular antacid but it's got an ingredient in it that kinda foams up and coats the esophagus. So when reflux happens, it gets coated again.

So I guess Zantac is the only thing my Dr will allow me to take... I asked him about all of the other ones and he said no.. weird how every Dr has a different opinion. Oh well lets hope it works

I got the 150 mg, and I could take it twice a day but during pregnancy I still had to take tums sometimes.

they said all I could take it the 75 two times a day and that I could stlll take tums. I actually got some sleep last night..... Thank God
