Crying it out

posted 4th Nov
So I finally made Lincoln "cry it out" today for his nap... and of course a PPD mom has an emotional breakdown as well... but today I needed to do it as its been a very TOUGH day with the PPD and he needed the nap...

So he cried for about 40 minutes and has been out for about an hour... and I watched my SYTYCD and now Im catching up on email and thank you notes from my baby girls bday party (from sept)(oh ya and which i hate doing btw)

anyway, how many days do I have to make him do the "crying it out" before he'll nap and sleep in his crib alone?

It only took about 3 times of my daughter having to CIO before she started going to sleep on her own. Good luck mama! It will get better!

7m, and I checked on him 3x and picked him up and calmed him, put him back down... and I have PPD so I need to sometimes leave him down for his safety and from instruction from my psychologist.

at that age it might take him a while to get used to it, but stick to it mama you need your space and time for yourself.

We started using the CIO method with our daughter at 11 months. The first night it took about 40 mins but I kept checking on her as you did, but they say do NOT pick them up. The next night it took about 25 mins. so on & so forth. By 4 days she was a pro

we CIO'ed at 10 months and I had a severe case of PPD myself. I feel ya.

Darwin took a week or less. Now I can walk into his room, lie him down, and he'll just lie there with no complaints and go straight to bed. He's 19 months old now.

I checked on her every 10 mins, and would pat her back and talk to her, but didn't pick her up so she wouldn't think I was giving in and getting her out.

Darwin could stand in his crib when we started. So to pat his back was not an option. He'd be standing when we walked in, grab us, and start to climb up.

If Darwin hadn't slept, then I'd give up after 45 mins or so.

If he had slept, then as soon as he woke up I got him out.
