what can i put her in?

posted 4th Nov
A is 5 mos, but shes big!!! She sat in a papasan chair at first, and could sleep in it or sit, she loved it- but outgrew it. She has a bumbo, but shes figured out how to arch her back and push out of it, so not the greatest thing anymore, and not exactly comfy for falling asleep, etc..... I put her on the floor, she has an exersaucer, etc, but if they want to sit, etc, and not play, what can i put her in now?? she has a PNP, but cant sit up by herself yet, so if she was in that, shes got to be laying down, and she mostly doesnt like to lay down unless shes tired...

Ive run into this issue a lot- shes not strong enough to really sit up by herself, like in a shopping cart, etc, but shes outgrown her infant carseat; makes grocery shopping hard, especially if im just running in real quick!

Do you have a bobby? Sit her on the floor with the bobby around her.

Same problem here. My daughter is 5 months as well, she's pushing herself out of her Bumbo, she's sick of her swing and isn't really crazy about her exersaucer. It's an awkward age...it's much better when they start to sit up and stuff. Once they are crawling around and sitting, they don't always have to be "placed" somewhere.

Fisher Price makes something called "Newborn to Toddler Rocker" and can hold newborns up to 40lbs. It looks kind of like a bouncy seat, with toybar, etc, but can be a rocking chair, or you can put the stays on so it is still. Plus you can make it taller when they are older and they can use it as a regular little seat. We got this when my daughter outgrew her bouncy seat.

For those quick trips to the grocery -- some sort of front carrier is your friend!

bigger pain in the butt to pull it out, open it, get her in it, get her out, fold it up, put it in the trunk for a 5 minute trip than to just stick her on my hip and fumble   thats just an example though, trying to figure out what to do with her at home......

prop her up with a boppy sitting on the floor, it will help her learn how to sit on her own, and if the boppy doesn't have enough height then put another pillow under the back side of the boppy to give it that extra lift.
