Finally Heard Some News (Cancer Update)

The tests I received on Friday last week showed a need for me to get the bone marrow aspiration test  I HATE this test. Its really painful, and I was hoping to avoid it. However since the tests showed some growth, its important for us to determine whether or not the cancer has reached my marrow yet before we decide on strategy.

Thanks again for all the wonderful support I have been receiving. I will be sure to keep my wonderful friends in the loop as news becomes available. The bone marrow aspiration will be this friday, and the apt to discuss all of my results and formulate a plan of attack will be on monday.

So sorry you have to have the painful test done   I was really hoping you could avoid that too. Good luck with that appointment on Friday, and even more luck for the Monday appointment!

I'm sorry you didn't get the results you wanted and I'm sorry you have to do that painful test. Is it the one where they poke a fat needle into one of the pelvis bones (or something of the like)?

That would be the one. They basically twist it like a corkscrew until it gets inside the bone and into the marrow. It SUUUUUUUCKS.

Do they give you anything for pain/anxiety before they do it? That just sounds terrible. I'm sorry. So you've had this done before I'm assuming?

They put topical stuff on the skin, but they cant give you actual narcotic pain killers until AFTER. It BLOOOOWS. Sometimes they use a mild sedative to keep you calm though. Honestly, it hurts like a bitch and Im not looking forward to doing it again. Its been over a year.

I'm sorry. That is disappointing and scary news. I'm praying that it's not in your bone marrow.

On an up note I think my flu is starting to get better, and Aidan doesnt show any signs of having caught it. Thats good news at least!
