people say that women are very fertile right after they give birth but they also say women don't ovulate until a few months after they give birth...... how can you be fertile if you're not ovulating???

You DO ovulate after birth. You may not ovulate regularly/consistently for a lil while, you ARE ovulating

more open.. thats what my midwife told me. she said thats why they advise you 6 weeks to wait until sex..so everything has a chance to go back to its origninal size

It doesn't make sense to me either but lots of people on this website say it a lot. If you're exclusively breastfeeding it is unlikely (though very possible) that you'll get pregnant for the first 6 months because you aren't ovulating (I got my first PP period around 9 months).

I heard someone today say that if you have been pregnant, your body knows how to get pregnant again (your uterus is ready?) and that's why people who have been trying for years often find that they get pregnant a second time without a problem (I don't know any statistics though).

hmm i was wondering about that. so the longer you go without get pregnant the longer it takes for you to get pregnant?

Hmm, I have no idea. I wonder if anyone has done any research on this (and if we can find their results).
