Can I get my milk back?

posted 4th Nov
I am 7 weeks PP and I quit breast feeding at 3 1/2 weeks cause I was having trouble with it. but now I'd really like to try again. If I started putting my son back to the breast is it possible for my milk to pick up production again??

Oh yes! there are a few mamas on here that relactated and are going strong now! I know there is one or two in the infant breastfeeding thread so I would talk to them so they can give you advice!

I did the same thing becuase I got sick and didn't want to pass anything to her, it put a slow down to the production since there is no demand for it, mine stopped sompletely.

not true.
Adoptive mothers can breastfeed their infants, and those are women who have NEVER lactated.

OP-you can def do it, blessed thistle is the best. Pump, and put him to the breast as much as possible

You definitely can.

Start now, the longer you wait the harder it is. Trust me. It might be hard but just keep putting him back to your breast and pump inbetween feedings. Also fenugreek and mother's milk tea will help.

Yeah! I had to stop BF at 4 month and started again when Holly was about 7.5 months. It was hard but I got my milk back. That was way longer than the time that you would be trying to BF again. You can get a device (I forget what it's called) that has a tube run by your nipple and you can pump BM or put formula in it to feed your baby while they are latched on to your breast.
You can do it!
