Is it worth it?..

I want to schedule a 3D/4D ultrasound, but it is going to cost me $200 through a private clinic. It includes 30 minutes of viewing the babys movements, a CD with pictures, 2 printed pictures, listening to the heartbeat, gender determination, live broadcasting, a babys webpage and the entire session recorded on DVD.
I really want to do it, and my SO is wondering if its really worth it,why we cant just stick with the regular ultrasounds.So for you mamas that have had a 3d/4d, did you feel like it was worth the money? Did you pay around the same amount that i will be paying?

i think they are a waste of money personally.

Wow, only 2 printed?

I paid pretty much the same and getting 12 prints- 6 color and 6 B&W, DVD, 30 minute viewing plus a little booklet to put them into.

i personally would have paid the 200 if i knew about it when i was pregnant..

I loved my experience and thought it was totally worth it. I got great pictures and I found out I was having a girl. I was 27 weeks and still didn't know the gender and my OB was going to do another u/s on me until 32 weeks. I couldn't wait that long. But my u/s only cost $100. i got a15 min taping with a group of up to 15 people to watch,a dvd, vhs, 50 pictures and two little pin buttons with my daughters pictures.

I didn't end up doing it because i wanted to be surprised with what he looks like.
But also, I've seen some REALLY terrible looking ones where you can't see shit and it just looks like blobs of wax. That would really suck if you got your hopes up and paid that money and for some reason it just didn't even look good.

I think they are a waste...they are wonderful but a waste. That 200 dollars could be put towards more stuff for the baby. To each their own. I got my 3D/4D ultrasound today and it was free.

It was worth it to me. It brought SO closer to her IMO.
But only two printed??
I paid just about the same and got a lot more printed...

wow ! Ive done it with both of my pregnancys but they only cost 75 bucks! If it would of cost 200 i wouldnt have done it.Dont get me wrong we got some good pics but 200 is alot,and if baby isnt coperating when u go either that would suck.

ours cost about $200. i would like to do it for all our kids but if we cant i at least wanted to get our first kids. i loved it!! =] and now we have the pictures that are so good framed. i got mine done at 35 weeks and he said i was pushing it cause they usually cant get good pics that far along. but they did! =]

I agree. I got mine for free like I just stated in another comment and would have been pissed if I had to pay for this.
This is the good one...the other you can't even tell what it is. I didn't even bother posting it for that reason.

Well i know someone who went to the same clinic and her pictures turned out pretty good.. so hopefully they always turn out that good!

the tech and the equipment are VITAL to a good pic, but its also the babys position too, and you cant control that part.
