Simplify my life?

I'm trying to make things easy because I stay at home cook...clean...blah..blah..blah. Do any of you mommas make a food plan? Like a schedule or list of what you are going to have for dinner etc for the week? Does it help make things easier?

I made a list for the next week and a half and so far it seems a lot easier. I know what Im having for dinner each night and what I need to set out.

I am working on the food plan thing now, so will be watching this topic -- I work full time and it keeps me more on track to know what we are doing for dinner.
I have found my slow cooker to be very handy.
And I try to cook and bake on Sundays during LO's nap and can freeze some portions of the food so we have food for the week. Plus, then we have cookies too.
On the weeks I have scheduled out dinner for several days, it HAS made things easier for me, I've found. I just need to get my groceyr list organized accordingly and stick to it.

It would also make it easier on your groocery shoping.

Yep we do. It seems to cut down of our food expenses ALOT. Before we would just grab whatever at the store and end up getting stuff that never gets eaten. Now we have it planned out mon-sun and only get what we need for meals that week. Helps out alot and saves alot of time in the store

my mom always wrote down which meal to make each day depending on how busy that day is and how easy the meal is. But I must say that we both love our crock pots

Can someone who has done it, post a sample weekly menu? I need to restart this week -- LO was sick (and had no appetite), and SO and I were so tired we ordered takeout two nights in a row -- so I'm off track!

I do a three day turn around with meals...and i cook and freeze
So i only have to cook like twice a week lol. Its been saving me A LOT of money and time too.

I have a hard time cooking in the crock pot. Last night I made a stew in it and it was great! Other times my stuff has come out weird. What are your favorite crock pot meals?
Oh key lime here is a sample of mine
Beef Stew
Beef Teriyaki Stir Fry
Pork Chops
Fried Rice
Baked Spaghetti
Chicken and Dumplings

We do weekly dinner menus. Most of the time, I do crock pot meals. Enough for dinner and left overs for lunch the next day. Simply throw everything in the crockpot in the morning and it is ready to go for dinner. I love it.

i doo!
well.. i dont.. but i do plan out the meals.. but i dont plan what day we'll eat what.. just w/e i feel like eating from my list that day.. we'll eat.
but if i were a stay at home mom i probably would b/c that would make life easier.. if you knew what you were eating on what day you could have it planned out and start start dinner w/o thinking 'hmmm what will we eat tonight'
but i have all day to think about that at work lol
