When can you start fenugreek?

I am pregnant and want to BF and I really want to have a good start at it. dont think Im an idiot for asking but can I start taking it as soon as the baby is born to produce more milk?

you dont HAVE to take it, at all. when your supply comes in, if its not great or you start to lose it, then take it... but most women dont have to.

Yes ma'am... but chances are... your body will do just what you need to, to successfully breastfeed.

Dont give up... there wont be any *milk* when they are first born... just enough colostrum for them to survive until the milk comes in... but let them feed on demand... and you will be fine =) A nice healthy supply of milk is pretty much guaranteed =)

You take it when you already are having milk supply problems. Taking it now wouldnt make sense. Just wait until your milk comes in AFTER you give birth.

ETA: I'm still half asleep I didnt read it all....Just wait until your supple actually comes in.

Don't take it until your milk comes in (it can take up to a week after the baby is born.) and you're supply is level (it can take a couple months). Most women do not need to take it, I breastfed for over a year, and I never had to take it.

I took it to up my supply with my twins and it worked really well   I started taking it when they were about 3 months old or so and had a decent supply, but I was trying to up my supply so I could pump and have more on reserve for when I went back to work.

Drinking tons of water and eating oatmeal are also two other ways to help with supply problems, but I would DEFINITELY wait until you are delivered and producing before trying to alter your production any.
