I just want to see what other people think about spanking...and i do mean spanking, on the hand or butt with ur hand...not a belt or abuse or anything like that...do u do it? did u have it done when u were a child? do you agree with it or disagree...just curious...

Depends on how bad the child is behaving.

I will never do it.

I wouldn't want my son growing up thinking someone who's bigger than him, can hit him when he doesn't do something their way.

A spank is fine when they are acting out.

I had it done as a child. I met a mom who never spanked her children but disciplined them and they were the most well behaved children I ever met. I do not plan on spanking Pei.

I was spanked as child with a belt or a shoe and always slapped in my face. I will NEVER spank my child with anything other then my hand and never in the face. But i do feel there is nothing wrong with popping your child on the butt when they did wrong.

I think the reason I agree with it is because my older brother and I were both spanked and my little brothers never were and it shows in their lack of respect for my parents. My daughter is only six months though so we're not really worried about that yet. My husband and I are still deciding on how we will diciplineour child.

I got a belt, but never a shoe, and never slapped in the face. I did get my hair pulled like once.

I was spanked and it didn't do a damn bit of good. I don't spank my kids and I never will... there are other, more successful ways to discipline. Hitting only causes fear in children without giving them an explanation of the problem/ solution.Spanking happens when parents lose control.

I always got an explaination for why i was being spanked, i knew why i got it and yes it did put fear in me. I did not do drugs, skip class, get bad grades i was to scared to get punished, i think it made me a better person.
