soon-to-be Godfather (vent)

He flaked last night for the baptism classes. He told me he would be there and he wasn't. I felt so pissed because the day before he said he would be there and when I called him last night he said he wasn't sure what he needed (wtf? we talked about this the day before!).
I left him a voicemail just now telling him that I was disappointed with the fact that he did that. And I told him that being a Godfather is more than just a title. I mentioned the reasons I chose him (of all of my 20+ male cousins) to be my son's Godfather and that he needs to be at next week's class or he needs to figure out classes on his own and I wasn't going to wait on him if he doesn't do that much.
I feel bad though because I didn't want to say how I felt but he needs to know that this is also a responsibility and commitment not just a title.

Me too   I really wanted him to be the Godfather. He has always kept personal things personal. Like, my other cousins would tell me how he hooks up with girls and gets drunk and does this and that and when ever I asked him about it he'd keep it to himself. That's with everything. He doesn't advertise the things he does like my other male cousins do and I respect that completely because IF something was to happen to me and Andrew and he had to take care of William I trust that he'd keep that sort of thing away from William and be responsible for my child.
But, him flaking doesn't really show that to me
