Any bakers?

Hey I am gonna post this and run... but are there any baking mama's on here? I want some good recipes for a really good cake! Maybe a red velvet cake with butter cream icing... anyone have any good recipes for butter cream icing? Thanks!

I have a recipe at home for a hershey bar cake and it's amazing. You make homemade icing with cream cheese and whipped cream. I can post it tonight if you want me to.

I have my grandmothers recipe for an oatmeal cake, with a glaze icing. its friggin awesome. lol. best served warm   if you wan i can dig it out

go buy a tub of hershey's baking cocoa. on the back is a recipe for hershey's perfect chocolate cake and perfect chocolate buttercream icing. it makes a 2-3 layer 8-9" round cake and it is seriously the best chocolate cake you'll EVER have. my family is a looooong line of chocoholics and when i made the cake from scratch i was told it was the best chocolate cake they'd ever tasted. and it's really easy!! just mix, bake and frost. no need to know anything about baking at all!

Buttercream icing:

6 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (soft)
1/2 cup shortening
6 to 8 Tbls milk
1tsp vanilla

Blend together the shortening and butter, add 3 cups P. Sugar and 3 to 4 Tbls milk. Mix well, add remaining sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat well until creamy.
*add a Tbls of flour if the frosting tastes to sweet.


Chocolate lovers frosting
3 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup butter (soft)
5 to 6 Tbls milk
1 tsp vanilla
Beat 1 cup sugar, cocoa, butter, 2 Tbls milk and vanilla in a small bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in remaining sugar and milk until smooth.

I just use dunkin hines cake mixes I'm lazy and they taste better then most scratch cakes. If you want a nice fluffy cake just beat the cake mix longer then 2 minutes.
