Pumping?

Okay so Isaiah is 5 days old, and I BF him. I just gotmy milk in like yesterday or the day before... When can I start pumping?

Whenever you want. I had to pump from day one since she was in the NICU for 2 weeks. EP is hard though, I wish she wouldve latched on. EP didn't last long w/me.

Unless you absolutely have to, I wouldn't pump until a week or two before you need the milk. Give your body time to adjust.

Unless you HAVE to, its recommended that you wait 4-6 weeks until your milk regulates, etc. its especially recommended that you wait 4-6 weeks to give the baby a bottle.

EP is very hard. ive been doing it almost 3 months! so tiring lol.

Yeah If I knew she wouldnt latch I wouldve paid more money to get the hands free pump, wouldve been a little better!

Yeah it's really REALLY hard. I did it for 13 months because Nathan wouldn't latch. Thank GOD Sylar did or I don't know what I would have done.

its a lifesaver and i have a hands free bra. lol. i never really thought about her not latching until she wouldn't but luckily my MIL had bought me a nice pump anyway so it has came in handy lol

WOW 13 months? You are a strong mama. I don't know how long I will last but I am trying to keep going as long as I can. I get so tired of doing it lol and now Im donating my milk bc my freezer is so full i cannot put any food in it lol

they had me start pumping the day i had him to get milk in faster cause my son was so big he was losing weight fast on just colostrumand from pumping i hadmy milkin 2 days. but i would encourage not to pump if you have to, its waaaayyyyy harder pumping and it can get you discouraged

That's what I did too! I think you'll be okay. It just sucks up so much time!

yes it does, i feel like im always pumping lol. but luckily if i go on trips or anything my pump has a car charger haha.

I had an inverter for my car lol. I have the opposite problem with Sylar now. Nathan wouldn't take a boob, Sylar won't take a bottle.
