why am I not pregnant?

Has anyone gotten a bfp really early with one child, then really late with another? With my daughter, I wasn't trying.. I realized my period was a few days late and took a test. It was bright pink immediately. With my son, AF wasn't due for a week, but I thought I may be pregnant because we were trying. I took an equate test and got an incredibly faint bfp that was confirmed with blood test. AF is now due tomorrow or Friday.. I have taken 5 million tests and they are all negative. I'm done ttc.. but some small part of me will, of course, hold out hope until AF comes. I guess I'm just trying to prepare myself for it. So anyway, be honest ladies. If I'm 2 days away and I've taken so many tests that turned out negative; I'm probably not pregnant, right?
(also--I just don't get it.. I'm 22, healthy, taking vitamins... and I've had 2 perfectly healthy pregnancies without even having to try. What could be wrong now?)

With my daughter I believe we tried for a month and a half before I got her Bfp.

This time around, my doc said he thought I ovulated late because I hadn't had Af since August 22nd, but all my tests (HPT, blood, and urine) all were negative in September, then in late October I got a Bfp at the doctor's office.

It can take a while sometimes. You've only been TTC since July, that's not that long..

There's many different reasons. you could have ovulated late, it might not be the time to take a test, or it's just not your month. I know that when TTC you want a positive that month, but sometimes it takes a few tries.

I'd say you're not pregnant. I kept taking them and hoping. AF ended up being 2 weeks late.  

Not sure, I don't get it all either. I am irritated with it and this is our first time trying. I have to wait until the 18th to know anything. It's all so stressful. I honestly feel for the ladies who try for years. With my second son Logan, we got prego the first time trying....only had sex three days, didn't even know how long my cycles were, just calculated online and that's what we went by. Still hold out hope, my experience though is if you are getting negatives right before AF, it's probably negative. Sorry mama, probably not what you want to hear...or maybe u'll still get a positive!

with my daughter I had been on birth control for 8 years and out of the blue bam i got preggo ... and now i took BC for 3 months after my LO was born.. but quit taking .. ive been off of it for almost a year .. my DH are just doing the whatever happens happens... i always have a small bit of hope that i get a BFP every month but nothing   .... From Jan to Aug I did the opks and all that jazz and still nothing so .. i guess if its meant to be it will happen when its suppose to

There is only something like a 20-25% chance of pregnancy each month.
Took me 16 months ttc #1 and 1 month ttc #2

I get that but I don't understand the ovulating late thing.   When my OB said that I was like, "...Huh?"

With all three of mine i was between 3 to 4 days late for my period and i only got a faint line.
