my son is going to have a gay muslim godfather.

he was catholic then while serving in iraq made the switch.

he is my hubbys friend, i dont know him too well. the guy decided to go against his muslim beliefs and baptise our son. because he has his catholic certificates nd all that still..lol

question is, what does islam say about homosexuals? he went against his beliefs to baptise our son, but yet he is gay. i dont feel right asking him this, how he could go against his religion to baptise, but not when it comes to his lifestyle choice. he has a bf btw.

It is strictly prohibited and not accepted by the majority. That said there are of course gay Muslims, just like there are women who don't wear hijab, people who don't pray, men who wear gold and silk.... you get the jist.
Islam is all about your intentions and how good of a person you are. In the end it is up to Allah to judge.
Though, I have to admit that he doesn't act Muslim from what you are saying. Maybe he, like so many others, is just Muslim by name. Kind of like you believe a little of this and a little of that.

Awww, I can totally understand where you are coming from. One of my friends who was from Saudi Arabia suggested that most cultures don't ween until 2 years of age. That's what he and his wife practiced while living over here. He was surprised that I was so concerned at weening my oldest at 14 months. But whatever works for you. I do remember that when we were transitioning Mikey to cow's milk around 18 months we did use the ovalteine. Sorry to hear that it tastes like cardboard over there, but hopefully the nestle's will taste better. Can you have something shipped in? I know it has to go through special checks, but might be worth it.

Are you able to get flavored coffee syrups like Torani over there? Or even add a little vanilla extract to his milk? Infuse some real vanilla into milk? Or make vanilla sugar (open up a vanilla bean, store in an airtightcontainer of sugar for aday or so) and add to his milk?

Actually if they are Muslim, we are told that it is better to BF for a full two years. Actually it is said that it is the right of our children to be able to bf for those two years.

Yeah, they are Muslim. I didn't know that it was part of their religious beliefs.

Late as usual  I BFd Daniel till he was 21 months old, and self-weaned. He has never drunk any other milk. We found out he was lactose intollerant, and didn´t like the special milk the doctors gave him. He still drinks no milk at all, but eats cheese, yoghourts, any kind of diry you can imagine, and he loves everthing (no problems with his intollerance whatsoever). I also though I was gonna BF him till his wedding day, but one day back in August he said "no" when I offered, I never offered again, and he never asked again  Kind of sad at the beginnng to be honest

I feel like this is the boob that will never end. My LO is screaming crying in my ear bc she wants to be BF to sleep. I thought she was weaning recently but she was just getting molars. I'm done BFing, but she is not and refuses cow's milk or chocolate cow's milk either.

Awww, I had such anxitey when we started weening my oldest. I am sure I will got through the same thing, and I was terribly sad too, which surprised me b/c I didn't really enjoy BF that much at the end, or so I thought   I forgot about how comforting it can be for both of us.

I loved BFing, loved the bond it created between us  I hope I´ll be able to do it with #2 again, as long as he/she wants me to... To be honest, in the end I was ready to finish as well, but I liked it anyways, and was just once a day before bedtime...
