Have any of you moved on post while your husband was deployed? I'm moving back to maryland to live with my parents until probably next june so we can save even more money but when I move back I want to look into on post housing. It just seems so much simpler and they will move my stuff from the storage unit to the house. We are not on a wait list right now, so do I/can I put us on a wait list or do I need a special power of attorney for that? How long does the process take, or should I wait until it gets closer to the time for me to move back? Any advice would be great.

if u have a general POA it covers everything. u will also need acopy of his page 2 to be put on the housing list, it just shows who he has as dependants and will determin what size house u get.

If you were already there they won't move your stuff from a storage unit there to on post.

All you need is a POA to get on the housing list. Every housing list is different. Call and see how long the list is right now then decide if you need to be on it now or when it gets closer.

u need a poa...good news tho ...saves money living in md, but they wont move it for you when you get a house on post. oh and the waiting list for us when we were on it for fort lewis was 4 months.

I thought they would move it for me. My one friend moved on post from her apartment and there were movers from post that came and moved her heavy furniture and stuff for her. Hmm. But thank you! I'll find out how long the wait is for the places.

i dunno, usually they won't move unless it's ur first time moving there. good luck. when are you moving back to md?

Thats what I thought.
I've had friends move back and forth and never had the army pay for it. Maybe your friend they did b/c they didn't pay for the initial move.

yup that's what i would think, cuz they don't just dish out money whenever u move from the same base to somewhere around the same base. only when u pcs and stuff. thanks, there for a sec i thought maybe i should've been gettin paid, hah.
