aversion to calling son by his name???

posted 4th Nov
i find it so weird to call my son by his name. is that weird. kind of i guess. i refer to him as the baby or my son (but only as my son when im writing or talking to folks i dont know). However- when he was first born i referred to him as"the kid" so maybe its a progression thing.do you suppose its just a matter of getting used to calling him by his name? or perhaps that fact i dont really like the name carson (my SO named him after his granddad)... maybe i should call him by his middle name which is james..but that too is kind of awkward. all thatsmeaningless really in the scheme of things i guess. all i really know right now is isim so so in love withhim- he is the sweetest most amazing thing to ever come into my life, and he really has reaffirmed my faith-bc looking at him i know now miracles exist and for some reason i was blessed withhim. i am very fortunate. ANYHOW- did anyone else ever feel lik e that about calling your LO by their name or did it come naturally?

I called my belly Charlie from 16 weeks on (when we found out he had a tallywhacker). So, it wasn't hard to transition to calling my son that.

I thought it was so weird to call J by his first name. He was always baby or the baby. Then it was weird to say "my son". Now I call him Jayson when I'm talking to him, but when I'm talking to other people, he's either the baby, or my son.

I'm not sure. Well, I knowI have a lot of insecurities, and although he's 11 months, I'm still getting used to the idea that he's actually mine and I get to keep him. Sometimes I feel like people will judge what I named him, sometimes it's just weird for me. I call him baby to him, like "come here baby" so maybe it just sticks with other people. Honestly, I'm not sure.

As soon as I found out she was a girl we started calling her lilly and talking to her before she was born so as soon as she was born, she was Lilly and she couldnt be anything else, her name fit her perfectly i think

I couldn't do that. I was just so awkward in my pregnancy, thinking everyone was judging me. I loved him, yes, but I felt like I didn't deserve to be pregnant. It was weird talking to my belly, or calling him his name. Just me though.

I don't use any of my kids names mostly because they all have cute nicknames. My savannah is called annie, My raquel is either little mommas or celly, Steven is my baby boy. And Jimmy is bubbas or jimbo. Mostly because its what they were called when they were babies and it kind of stuck...
