MIL made me cry..lol

posted 4th Nov
My mother in law is really testing me. We had an issue 2 weeks ago with my nephews being sick and around Jason. Well this morning out of nowhere when I dropped Jason off, she went off about how I need to stop stressing people out and deal with the fact that my son is around ppl who are sick. Fuck off hes 5 months old, Im not dealing with anything, especially with this swine flu crap. I havent even said anything to her at all in weeks and even then, I made my husband do it. Anyway she was going on and on about how Im trying to keep him in a bubble and its not reality and I started crying..lol fml..I really dont want her thinking she got to me.

I wanted to give her a peice of my mind but I would never because I respect her and my husband would be royally pissed.

How do you guys deal with this crap?

your husband would be pissed at you for telling your MIL she's wrong for saying you should let your 5 month old around sick people? but it's okay that she made you cry?

fuck that you should have told her!

Yeah, I would have said something, but my MIL and I are not on good terms... so it doesn't really matter. You could just tell her whileit's not your intention to shelter him from the world, it's your job to protect him and you don't see the point in exposing your baby to illness unnecessarily.

the last time my MIL tried to tell me something about parenting, i pulled the "i am lord and emporor of this child, and if i say shes wearing green on tuesdays, you will say 'yes ma'am'" and my MIL is so used to not being talked back to it surprised her. she shut up, and hasnt told me how to raise my child since

i understand how u feel.. my ex mil was the same way i never told her off until me an my ex split up an filed for divorce. i dont blame u for not wanting ur LO around sick ppl. i had my DD at 35 wks an i really didnt take her anywhere cuz she was so little she was 4.14 when we left the hospital. my ex MIL was a very selfish person she wanted me to bring my DD over even when she had bronchitis an along with her other sickness she had ... an even to this day when my ex gets her on visitation she comes back sick .... but after i told her off an told her what i thought about her an her selfish way she never said anythingelse to me

haha, i snapped, but she actually laughs about it now, since we're very similar..... but yes, honestly, i would jsut say "i know hes going to be around sick people sometimes, and im not trying to keep him in a bubble, but hes still really little and his immune system is still immature, so i would prefer for it to build slowly rather than have to fight off a bad cold or the flu..... its my job to watch out for him" or something like that

Sorry to hear you're having to defend your protection of your child! I don't understand what people's issues with not wanting your infant to get sick is. I don't think you need to be disrespectful to her just let her know that it's not that you're being over protective but, he is very little and there are children dying from the swine flue and all you're trying to do is protect your INFANT from possibly contracting a terrible disease. Don't let her intimidate you! Stand up for yourself girl!

just do what i do! blame it on your dr lol. say that last time he had a dr's appt your dr told you because he is so young and his immune system is not as strong he advised to stay away from all sick or potentially sick kids. its a win/win situation. it makes it look like its the dr's orders and you are just being a good mommy by doing what he says lol. and if that doesnt work tell her to fuck off lol

seroiusly i have had a lot of people question my decisions i have made for makayla and getting into a heated debate with them was getting old and as soon as i wouldsay "its what my dr told me" they had nothingmore to say! you should really try it.

and eff her for making you cry! i will kick her ass if you want me to, or at least egg her house

That is a good idea. Shes not a bad person, she is just pushy so to speak and thinks shes always right..lol Egging her house would be fun..just kidding!

Its not so much her that intimidates me, well I guess a little but Im more just not wanting to get into it with my husband about disrespecting his mom! lol Im sick of getting into disagreements with him over something she said/did.
