Mommies of more than 1 - Did you feel LESS prepared the seco

posted 4th Nov
For some reason, when it comes to THINGS I feel less prepared for this baby. With My daughter I felt like I had everything I needed and basically sat around waiting for her to come, wishing she would show up!

This time around, I feel more ready in some ways because I have been through the newborn stage before, but I am feeling like the baby is going to come and I won't have what I need or that I have forgotten things! I'm dilating and I feel nervous that I'm going to have this baby and feel totally lost!

Does this sound crazy or am I not alone?

with my second i was done preparing at like 36 weeks. i did it all in a few days. set up the basinette, washed her clothes, and that was pretty much it. i didn't buy diapers until a few days before my due date lol. when she came it felt like she was here the whole time. nothing was new or scary, it was just feed, change, sleep and take care of my son. it was so easy and such a fluid transition. i don't think you'll have anything to worry about. except for how much energy it takes to handle two!

I understand that. DH works almost 50 hours a week, and will be going to the Police Academy in March. MeaningI will be at home by MYSELF with an infant and a 2 year old. Its pretty scary to think about.

I am feeling so unprepared. We're moving to a bigger house in Dec, so because we don't have another baby's room here. So I feel so behind since I haven't gotten another crib, dresser, anything. Just a couple outfits. Plus I am so overwhelmed at just the thought of trying to take two and afraid of failing.

I understand. I worry about my daughter and how she will adapt to not being our only one.

I was easily more prepared, but emotionally I didn't feel it. I felt an urgent panicky feeling all the time. I don't know if it was normal, but I felt it too with my second and third.
