How early can terrible twos start

posted 4th Nov
My daughter is almost 14 months old she just started walking this last week and likes to get into everything, when ever i tell her no, she starts to scream and throws herself down and cries, she also like to hit me in the face and bite. She also will throw her sippy cup on the floor while looking at me after i tell her no. is this terrible twos??? my mother in law said my husband went through terrible 2s really early like shortly after he turned one. my mother says i never went through a terrible 2s and she is too young. dont get me wrong my daughter has her good days and can listen and things like that but the days she is all about tantrums i want to pull my hair out, how do i fix this??

If thats the terrible twos then my 10 month old is going through it too! haha

I think it's just the age where they are learning how to get their way and what buttons they can push. My 10 month old who is walking, dropped on her butt, stuck out her bottom lip and cried as if I slapped her today when I told her "No!" when she tried to reach and grab something off the table.

And if she's doing something bad and I tell her no, she either hurries up to chew on whatever it is, or turns and attempts to run away.

My 1st was the same way, I avoided public places forever. It gets to be embarrassing. Sorry not much help, just letting you know I understand.

I don't know but mine is 19 months and he's been doing that lovely trick of throwing himself on the floor, banging his head, kicking his feet and screaming at the top of his lungs for a while now. It's annoying because I don't give in to it, he's a smart kid, you'd think he'd find another way to misbehave, lol. He even gets this "bad boy" look on his face when he's about to act up. Somebody told me the temper tantrums are a terrible two's thing, so I guess your daughter is starting early. Maybe she'll finish early too?

In my son's case it started at birth haha. He got really "Terrible 2"ish about 11 months and it's only increased over time. He's 15 months today.

I've play spanked Dom before and he loves it since we've been doing it since birth as a joke. He laughs at it since we only tap his butt.

We don't generally do CIO but if he's throwing a full tantrum I will let him until he's calm, or at least less crazy. If it's in my own house I will walk into another room to make him follow me. Out in public I usually try to take him outside during a fit but usually I try not to give him what he wants unless it's something he's fine with having anyway.

For example I let him go around stores holding items to distract himself but there comes a time to take it away. If he throws a fit I offer him a cup or one of his own toys. If he throws my bargaining item I let him be upset. As long as it isn't a restaurant or theater type place I really don't care if people see me with a screaming baby. That's the big issue about tantrums in public, judging looks and stranger bullying are one of the biggest causes for parents shaking children.

If he's upset for a valid reason or he just wants me I will always comfort him.
