I have a big baby so I won't-- I wouldn't get the use out of it like others. I just prop him on the floor, put him in my lap, or put him in the high chair to look around.

And they're not very good stationary entertainers if you're looking at it for that aspect. I baby sat one little girl who had one and she kept dropping or throwing her toys and would scream when she couldn't reach down to get them. It also took a lot of force to get her out of the bumbo (she was chunky). You would pick her up and the damn seat would stick to her until you pried it off her body.

Quoting RainyDayWoman (BOSM):“ Would you recommend buying a Bumbo?”

I thought they were quite expensive for the short amount of time that they're used. Do you have playgroups where you are? we have aplaygroup association that has a toy library. I hired a bumbo from their for $2 per week. Was a lot cheaper than buying one, but it was fantastic. I would defenitely recommend them.

Those things are really pointless if you ask me. My daughter was 4 months old, and she wasnet a chubby baby. I put her in one that my friend had, and her legs got stuck in the leg openings. I think they look very uncomfortable.

I don't plan on getting one. Seems unnecessary to me. But I've heard good things about them, so it's really up to you.

My baby is a little over 6 months old and we LOVE our Bumbo! We have used it pretty much every day since she was a couple of months old. She likes to sit up and feel apart of things, so the Bumbo worked great for that. Also, it allows me the ability to cook or get things done, as she could sit in that and watch me (instead of perhaps lying in her swing). And for meals, she sometimes sits in it on the couch next to me while I eat my dinner. Otherwise, I'd have to hold her (if she didn't want to be in her jumper or swing...and she often doesn't). My husband and I were just talking about yesterday that the Bumbo is the best if you have a baby...it's been invaluable for us and I would definitely recommend it!
