Anyone know what would suddenly make a cat become nasty?

Cordelia has always been a sweetheart but the past month or so if any of the other cats come anywhere near her she hisses and chases them away.
She is ok with people and the dog but the other cats seem to really bug her for some reason. She won't even let her daughter near her and they have always been really close.
It gets worse at night when we go to bed because she will chase everyone around and will even fight on hubby and I.
Any idea as to why she might be suddenly acting up?

I am still trying to convince my husband to get rid of all but 4 cats but he isn't budging.

Get her checked out at the vets. She might have a thyroid issue, toothache, etc. Sudden personality changes with no apparent reason usually means there's something up health wise.

I plan on getting her to a vet in a few weeks once we have paid off the bill we owe for having a cat put down recently.

I'm sorry for your loss. We had to put our baby down a couple months ago. It's hard.

No she isn't yet but she doesn't appear to be on heat. It is normally very obvious when she is lol.

Thanks, it was terrible.
They left us alone to have some time with him before they took him and I just couldn't let him go. Hardest thing in the world.
