really good with resumes?
I really can't afford to have a "professional" proofread mine.

I'm looking for someone who could help me rewrite mine and possibly help me beef it up a bit. lol

It would be nice if said person wasn't a creepy stalker. Just to be sure I'll remove all my personal information.

Sent, I forgot to tell you the lapse in work history is because I have been a SAHM since April 2008.

I really don't know how to work that into my resume without sounding bad.

You don't have to. Especially with the economy being what it is, employees are less likely deem gaps as unacceptable. At least that's what I've read.

OK -- my daughter is waking up at the moment anyway.

I actually got a job as a marketing assistant at a local advertising agency. No benefits yet, but hopefully soon. I took what I could get. The pay isn't that desirable so I'm trying to land a state job instead...

I've seen some places offer like a professional glance (and wording tips, etc,) but they usually cost money.

I do too! I can't even tell you how many times I probably could have gotten a call back *if* my resume was better.  

Maybe we should start a thread for moms returning to work -- we can all collaborate ideas for resumes/cover letters so we can get the best jobs suited for our abilities.
