Dolls From Parenting Classes

posted 3rd Nov
Did anyone have them? What was your experience?

I had one, I named her Leah Sarai. She hardly ever cried, I remember going to sleep and waking up every 15-30 minutes just to check on her to make sure I wouldn't just be in a deep sleep and not hear her cry, have her cry it out, and thus getting a bad grade. I had a wristband that if you put the button-thing on the doll's back it would make the doll stop crying, if you 'feed' her or 'changed' her, which were the different settings. Besides crying, theyalso grunted and cooed, aww.I remember going on the school bus the next day, and the driver had a WTF look on his face, almost didn't let me on the bus, lol. When I went ut, people always though she was real too! They were sorta lifelike. This one girl got pulled over, because she had her doll on her lap lol. I was so sad when I had to return her, I wish she was a bit more fussy though, she was TOO good, hardly ever cried and jealous when it was the other classes turn with the dolls, lol.

I went and brought clothes for her lol, since the clothes they had for the dolls were raggedy. The baby carrier they gave to you, but I made sure to get the cuter newer one. The name plate is mines. Afterwards I gave the clothes to a family friend.

Our high school does it... but only in the teens as parents class... which is typically teen parents, and it's a little late. I think it should be mandatory, and every baby should have colic and it's days and nights mixed up.

I had one of those in Jr high. It was an amazingly fun pain in the butt. Everyone thought it was real and OMG I got such dirty looks at church.

LOL, you're horrible.
Though I so agree.
When my hubby and I decided I should go off BC, my mind kept flashing back to that doll. It was on "cranky" mode and all I could think about for the first month was the second to last night where I picked it up by the leg because I was so sick of the fake monotone "wah, wah, wah, wah" every half hour.

Yes, we had those!!! I was in 8th grade though.. My teacher knew that I was good with babies so she put mine on the hardest setting- and that WAS like a real baby. Like a COLIC baby. It was literally crying every 10 minutes, and it was just awful! My best friend and I had them together, she had one and so did I. We had them over superbowl weekend, which so happened to be an extended weekend- so 5 days with that thing- i was SOOO ready to give it up! lol My friend and I were so exhausted by the time we turned them in.. it was funny. And we had many sleepovers that weekend too, we laughed at how real it was because we would fight over who got up to feed them or whatever at night LOL.. good memories!!

We had them at my school. They we very realistic. well, as realistic as a doll can be haha. Everyone hated it but I think they should have done it in HS. We got ours in middle school. By that time everyone kind of forgot about it and a lot of girls I went to school with have babies now, are pregnant, or have unprotected sex
