Quoting JenniferKay: Well... Wesley had baby food for the first time this evening, I steamed and purreed fresh organic carrots. ... [snip!] ... before this. I'm hoping that it was just a shock, and he'll do better tomorrow, but I don't have much hope. Any suggestions?

Quoting sdgkhbgkgbh: dont force him to have it. if u breast feed & he is fine with that then leave it alone. ur breast milk is all he needs still. baby food isnt MANDATORY
Quoting pilot Jess: Maybe he's not ready for it, Amelie was like that and didn't want solids till around 6 1/2 months. But ... [snip!] ... to introduce the same thing every day for a week, and they will learn to like it- babies taste buds are programmable
Quoting Taiter Tot's Mama [AP]: You cant push him if he isnt ready. Let it go and come back to it later. Baby's gut isnt ready for solids ... [snip!] ... any solids at all until then. At this point solids are just for fun and variety, so if he doesnt want it then just skip it.I had planned to exclusively breastfeed for as long as possible, but he's been losing weight for the past month so we had to started rice cereal at 5 months, and he's still losing weight... So it's time for baby food! He's a little over 5 1/2 months, so I don't feel so terrible, considering that most people still start their babies on baby food at 4 months!
Quoting Bisha: Was he hungry? My LO will not eat his solids if he's hungry. He works himself up into a frenzy and doesn't ... [snip!] ... days. I read that it can take 15-20 tries until a baby will either accept a particular food or reject it completely. Good luck!
