Monitors...

I was just looking at baby monitors and i didnt even know they had like video camera ones now lol Any suggestions on baby monitors? Would you prefer a traditional monitor or the video monitor? What monitors should i avoid?

my sister told me some story about her co-worker having a video monitor and it intercepting the video of another baby or something   kinda like when normal monitors get signals from other houses

traditional. in my experience, i didn't sleep as well til we just had the normal monitor. with the video, all i did was wake up and stare at her to make sure she was ok. if you want sleep, i'd go for the traditional.

I loooooooooove my video monitor. I cannot express it enough. It is sooo comforting being able to see her. There was one time when it was off and I forgot to turn it on before she went to bed so I couldn't see her and I was dying..lol..I couldn't tell if she was awake or not because sometimes she makes noises but is still asleep. Or when she wakes up crying and goes back to sleep I can see if she laying correctly instead of like sideways or with her leg out or something..I love it. Im getting another one for this baby

Are there any video monitors that don't cost $200 and work well, or are all the good ones pricey?

they vary, there is a summer infant one for 100..my cousin has it and it works great for her. Its more old school, not flat screen but it does the job and looks just fine on her dresser. Im getting that one for this baby

my grandpa bought me that one and it's still sitting in my closet... I haven't used it yet...

I would be lost without my video monitor I love it and in my experience I have never had a problem with them

lol..you should. It is helpful for me, and has never intercepted with anything.. Traditional monitors can get intercepted too, like walkie talkies

oh I know that! I just wouldn't want anyone else looking at my baby O.o

I never thought about the interception but i know that can happen with any monitor really i just read a review about one ofthe summer ones and a lady said her baby seemed fine on the monitor no noises and she was still sleeping on the screen but she heard her crying in the distance so she checked on her and the baby was awake and screaming when she took her baby back to her room she still saw her sleeping on the monitor screen, supposedly the screen froze or something, has anyone had that issue?
