Stopped talking?

posted 3rd Nov
My daughter is 14 1/2 months old. She was clearly saying "mum" "Da di" "Baba" and "Num num" before her first birthday. She was actually starting to try and say "oey" for my sisters name Joey and "Bye"

But I'd say about a month and a half ago she stopped saying words. She rambles on, or yells or grunts and points to what she wants. Now sometimes she just gets excited and exhales or inhales lol. Once in a while I can get her to say Num num, thats all.She understands alot of the stuff you say to her, just wont try and speak.

Any one elses little ones stopped talking? Is it just a phase?

my son did that if he was learning something else.the dr said that their little brains can only process so much at once. so if they are learning something physical then their mental development will slack off for a bit, and then it will switch... does that make sense?

thats exactly how my son was. he could say dada mama baba and nana clearly before his first bdy and shortly after...he was like he completely forgot them words...about 2-3 months later he was saying them again and more! so id say just a toddler phase

my cousin Destiny is about to be two on new years and all she says is;

Yeah she uses one at night, and she used a bottle right up until I bought her a new sippy cup today. I think the bottle is gone for good, so maybe the paci is right behind it.

i never did either. but it proved true. if he learned something new like words or something then his motor skills would slack.. and vise versa
