FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

posted 3rd Nov
I am a fucking moron. I laid katelynn my 3 week old who was asleep on the couch, and put a rolled up big blanket next to her so she couldn't wiggle away. I tell my dh who i thought was watching tv with daniel that i had to go upstairs and change my breast pads and find something. (not realizing he was asleep)

the next thing i hear is joel screaming my name. i came flying down the stairs and find that kate somehow wiggled her way UNDER the blanket and had fallen off the couch.

Fuck. GO ME. yeah i know that it happens to us all at one point or another. Try telling that to my dh who proceeded to scream at me for being an irresponsible parent.

because of her age should i call? or what should i look for. she has no visible marks and she is nursing right now....

I would. Any fall twice your height is considered a significant fall. Sorry for you and the baby, but like you said, we all have done it! she'll be just fine, but to rule out a head injury I'd call.

If she has calmed down she should be ok. If the baby continues screaming in pain then it might be something more.

oh no.   i would definitely call / have her be seen just to make sure. you can never be too careful when it comes to babies hitting their head (which i'm assuming she did if she fell off the couch). i hope she's perfectly alright!

call if it will make JOEL feel better... but shes probably fine. inconsolable screaming, any swelling on her head, etc is bad- biggest thing i can think of right now is pay attention to her sleeping..... if she sleeps longer then usual or its hard to wake her up, call/bring her in ASAP. and tell joel to go suck a nut.

my daughter was 11 mo and she fell and hit her head on a coffee table. For an hour she acted just fine, then all of a sudden started vomiting and we took her to the ER and she had a fractured skull. Its so scary, you can't take a possible head injury not seriously.

I think she is probably fine. If she quit crying, has no marks and fell on carpet, she was probably more scared than anything. It happens to all of us. Don't take it to heart, we all know accidents happen.

she is probably ok. My doctor always told me, that if that ever happened again, that as long as he/she is acting like they normally do AND that if there is a mark, that if it is a bruise and it is ok... when i say bruise i mean, they said bruises are fine, but if her head starts to either swell up or sink in, dont bother calling, go directly to hospital ...but call if it will make u feel better

I think you could check her eyes and look to see if they're blood shot, and watch to see that her soft spots don't swell..
Call the pediatrician's office, they usually have after hours on call and the dr can tell you what to watch for and if you need to take her in.
